WEATHER STATEMENT

* Debby’s Remnants To Bring Impacts With Rain, Wind And A Few Tornadoes *

A few showers and localized downpours are falling this afternoon ahead of the main event when Debby’s remnants approach this evening. During this period, there will be more widespread rainfall and heavier downpours. These tropical-like downpours bring a concern for poor drainage and roadway flooding, with some isolated stream / creek issues not entirely ruled out. Winds are also increasing as we speak, with with gusts up to 45 mph later, which can lead to some downed limbs and a few power outages in combination with saturated soil. The environment may also be conducive for an isolated tornado or two in the greater region. Activity associated with this system exits into the pre-dawn, with winds gradually diminishing into the night. Beyond that, pleasant conditions take grip of the region through the weekend and into the start of next week.
